Carolina outshot the hosts 14-6 in the final 20 minutes, but Emery was equal to the task by turning aside each chance to preserve the win. Game Notes Ottawa took the season series, 3-1-0...Emery now has eight career shutouts...Heatley's goal gives him a nine-game point streak (7-8-15), and Spezza's goal also increased his point streak to nine games (7-10-17)...The last time Carolina had been blanked at least eight times in one season occurred in 2002-2003...Neither team scored in 13 combined power-play chances...Ottawa plays in Atlanta on Friday, while Carolina hosts Pittsburgh on Friday.
